Witt had his 1 year appointment today. He looks and feels more like a two year old despite only housing three teeth behind that adorable smile. He is a super healthy, happy, and off the charts busy little guy, a member of the "fearless tribe" as Dr. Jen so aptly describes. He was assaulted with only one shot today to complete the fourth in a series. We are postponing chicken pox and mmr a few more months unless there is an outbreak before that would send us running to the office. As much as our busy little man exhausts us we give thanks to the Lord on a daily basis for our healthy, happy, sweeter than creme brulee baby (toddler?) boy! It is ALL about keeping proper perspective!
What Witt is up to at 1 year:
Walking, or should I say running! He started walking at @ 10 1/2 months but now walks with great confidence and pride.
He weighs in at 25.6 lbs (85 %tile). He is already quite the wrestler when it comes to changing diapers and outfits and attempting baths.
His head circumference is in the 95 %tile, which we are certain explains his love of books!
He is 32.5 inches long, off the charts tall. We have a strong suspicion that people will wonder why we can't control our 5 year old when he is two!
The "weapons of milk production" will soon carry the "unnecessary" tag. Witt is almost totally weaned. He has gone down for naps two consecutive days without nursing, and without a fuss! Can I get an Amen?
Yesterday when I dropped him off in the nursery he happily headed to some toys and did not look back once. Bittersweet!
He nods in approval/disapproval!
He adores Scotch. Scotch tolerates him. We are sure they will be roommates within the next year.
He loves music and sways, claps, and stomps to most songs. One mom dubbed him "class president" of our Music Together class because he is an"out there and lovin' it" kind of guy.
We have decided that life must be a bit confusing because he seems to live in a world of "B's": bottle, ball, bird, banana, book, bath, blankie, bed, to name a few. So basically everything is "ba" with the addition of "keys", "seeze" (cheese), Dotch (Scotch), and "appa" (apple).
It has been a beautifully chaotic year! We are grateful.
