Newport Trip and a little more...

We start with a few recent shots then move into our trip last week to the Newport Cliffwalk... beautiful place to enjoy the ocean! But first an update on Witt:

He turned exactly 4 months old on Tuesday Sept. 25th

He had his 4 month well baby apt. on Monday the 24th, with 4 shots. He did really well, cried momentarily. What was sad for us was that one of his legs bled. It just seemed so pitiful.

He weighs in at 16lbs, 14 oz (75th percentile)

He is 27 inches long (off the charts: no surprise there)

His head is in the 25th percentile. Paul joked and said his body is kind of like a pin. Thanks Dad!

We started him him on rice cereal which he is slowly starting to enjoy.

We got the okay to let him sleep on his stomach and that is the difference that makes ALL of the difference for this little guy. We were struggling with him taking naps. For 3 1/2 months he would only nap on one of us in the Moby wrap or occasionally fall asleep on a walk or in the car. So one day I put him on his belly for a nap and he slept for 2 1/2 hrs. AMAZING! But after two days of this, he would no longer sleep on his back at night. So, our ped. gave us the thumbs up at this point to let him sleep on his stomach (we all did, right?). Hooray!

He is trying to roll over, but hasn't quite made it at this point.

He would rather be sitting up than lying down, and standing rather than sitting. He loves being outside. We essentially have a playground in our backyard (since we are in the Rectory) and Witt loves to watch all of the kiddos at play. It is really cute.

He has discovered his feet, but they haven't made it to his mouth. It does seem like babies are made out of rubber, though.

I (Lauren) continue to run our Children's program on Sunday mornings and Witt is my wing man. When we sing Witt gets so excited he flails his arms, kicks his feet vigorously, and squeals with delight. It's baby praise!

He is drooling like it's going out of style. It seems like he should be cutting teeth at any moment. We'll see.

His favorite toy is Sophie G(iraffe). She is a teething toy made not in China but in France (entirely different issues there) with non-toxic paint and rubber. He LOVES her.

We are having a great time watching Witt grow and change so much on a daily basis. He is such a precious gift to us and we thank God daily for him in our lives.

Playing footsie. Paul thinks it is hilarious that our poor son has my Fred Flintstone feet, long feet with short toes. Sorry Witt!

Gotta have it! Bad habits starting early.

I love my dad so much but not as much as he loves me!

It was a lovely day for a walk. If you are ever up this way, Newport should be included on your places to see list. If you come see us , we'll take you there (@ a 30 min drive).

Driving through downtown Newport... crazy little streets with lots of tourist traps!

If he is tired enough... he will sleep anywhere! But, only after he gives us heck first!
